Learn English vocabulary relating to snow! A dusting, white-out conditions, etc.
Video Text:
Look! It’s snowing outside!
It’s a pretty light snow, but later, it might turn into more of a heavy snow.
If it snows a lot, a lot, a lot, that you can’t even see, we call those whiteout conditions. And that can happen in a blizzard.
Now, the storm that’s going to hit my region later today is called a nor’easter. That only happens on the east coast. But if you live in the Midwest, near the great lakes, you might have what’s called lake-effect snow.
If the snow is really light, it might just leave a dusting, or, it might now stick at all. But if it’s heavier, then it might leave a nice blanket of snow.
I myself am hoping for a blanket so we can go sledding later.
