It’s your turn to make a video in this American English pronunciation video challenge.
I’m trying something new with the video challenge this time around. Rather than just having your practice your English, let’s see what happens when you try to teach something. This is just an experiment. Maybe none of you will do it! But I hope some of you will. The challenge is to teach an American English idiom. What’s one that you’ve learned, that you think is interesting? Make a video saying what the idiom is, what it means, and make up an example sentence, or tell us about the context where you first heard this idiom.
Some people might make a video about the same idiom, that’s okay. More sample sentences to learn from. I’ll put them in order from shortest to longest. For the challenge results video. To submit your video to be included in the challenge results video, upload it to Youtube as either public or unlisted, and email me the link. Email this address by this date. Then we can all learn more idioms. I can’t wait to see what you come up with! For inspiration, please see this playlist of past video challenge results videos. It’s really fun to watch others in this community making videos.
That’s it, and thanks so much for using Rachel’s English.

Two weeks ago, I made a video asking you to make me a video telling me the highlight of your year. This is a fun way for you to practice your English and for me to get to know more about you. Also the whole world, to get to know more about you.
So here are your videos. I had so much fun watching them. Learning the highlight of your year for some of you was a trip like the guy who did a trip across America. I’ve done that several times. It’s so much fun! I had a lot of fun watching your video and I also loved learning about people’s achievements in work or in school or things you did for an internship, this kind of thing.
What a wonderful year you all had. Thank you so much for sharing a little bit of it with me. Now without further ado, thank you for your courage. This is everyone’s highlight of 2017.

I think I’m going to start doing four challenges a year so I get to see you and know more of you. It’s time for all of you wonderful, amazing, awesome English speakers to make me a short video in English.
This time, the topic is how and where did you first study English? Did a parent teach you? Did you learn in school? Did you study on your own from books or a podcast? Those videos are so fun because we all get to see and learn so much about others in this Rachel’s English community. You are not out there alone. It’s okay if you make it unlisted but make sure it’s not private. Step 3, email it to me at this address by June 23rd 2017. If it comes in after that, it probably won’t go in my video. And that’s it! It’s time for the first Rachel’s English video challenge of 2017! Guys, it’s time for you to make me a video, practising your English.
Guys, it’s time for you to make me a video, practising your English. I love the Rachel’s English video challenges. If you’ve never seen one before, check out one of these videos it’s a challenge results video where I take the videos that everybody has made and put them together into one video.
So, today’s topic is a beautiful place in your home country! You can share photos or a little bit of video or it can just be you describing it or maybe you’ll point it out on a map. But I would love to hear about a beautiful or favorite spot in your own home country.
A couple of years ago, I took an 8-week road trip across America and I visited some of the national parks and some beautiful places. And I so enjoyed when people saw those videos and those photos, they shared some little spots from their own country and I love that! Discovering all of these places.
So that’s what has inspired this video challenge. I can’t wait to see a beloved or beautiful spot from your own home country.
So, how to do this? Make a short video. Shorter is better. I’ll put them in order from shortest to longest in the compilation video, practicing your English, as I said, use a photo or a little video clip or it can just be you speaking about this place.
So make a video, and upload it to YouTube. Make sure that it’s not private. It can be unlisted but it can’t be private. Then send me the link so the email to send it to is admin@RachelsEnglish.com and then the subject heading, let’s say, why don’t we put Beautiful Place Video Challenge. That will help me make sure that I don’t miss that email from you. So the last thing you need to know is the due date. This is the due date. Make sure to send me the email by this date so that I can include it in the compilation video.
Video challenges are one of my favorite videos to make. It’s so inspiring to watch you guys practising your English and I always learn something and I know this time, I’m going to learn about places that I’ve never known existed before. And that’s amazing!
So get those cameras ready! That’s it and thanks so much for using Rachel’s English!
It’s time to make another video practicing your English. This time the challenge is to answer the question, what is the highlight of your year?

Hey guys. It’s one of my favorite kind of videos. It’s a challenge results video. This challenge was introduce someone.
Thanks so much to everyone who made a video for this challenge. It was really fun getting to see the people in your life. I got to meet your kids. They’re all so cute! I got to meet your parents, your friends, roommates, siblings, coworkers. Totally awesome. Thank you to everybody who took the time to make a video for this challenge.
This time, fewer of you made a video for me. I wonder why. I’m thinking, it could be because it involved someone else, it was an introduce someone challenge. So, my next video, my next video challenge, will not require an extra person. Just you. I actually already have my idea, and it is the highlight of your year. It’s going to be in November or December. So, be thinking about that as you enjoy your life this year. Without further ado, here are your videos.
